We have been funded by the NSF to participate in the Potato Genome Sequencing Consortium. As part of the project, we end sequenced all of the BACs in both the RHPOTKEY and DM libraries, end sequenced three DM fosmid libraries, sequenced RHPOTKEY BACs on chromosome 6, annotated publicly available potato BAC sequences, and constructed a web portal for potato breeders/researchers for the potato genome. We have completed all of the BAC and fosmid sequencing and the sequences can be searched through our BLAST tool and downloaded through the project FTP site. All of these data were merged into the overall potato genome sequencing effort of the Potato Genome Sequencing Consortium. All sequences are deposited into Genbank and the NCBI Trace Archive.
